Project Spring Announces Delay in Seeking Approvals to Address Community Questions

White Rose Partners Press Release

City Officials Support Developer’s Effort to Extend Community Dialogue

White Rose Partners, the developers behind Project Spring, a proposed data center in Sand Springs, have asked the City for a continuance to postpone the December 3rd Planning Commission meeting and allow time for more community discussion.

At this time no future hearings or City considerations are planned for zoning or other requests. The City of Sand Springs will provide all relevant notifications in advance of any future matters.

The project developer hosted a community open house session November 18. In that event, citizens brought a number of questions to City leaders who wanted more details to appropriately respond.

“A project of this size will naturally bring many questions,” said Mayor Jim Spoon. “We owe our citizens and City Council more time to fully understand the facts, and I’m pleased the developer is taking more time to help everyone understand this project more thoroughly.”

“The developer has requested a continuance so the public can have more time to learn about this project,” said City Manager Mike Carter. “The City will send new notifications prior to future meetings about this project once they are scheduled.”

The developer will publish extensive information about the proposed project through various channels – including a dedicated project web page – well before any future hearings or votes.
